15 Year Transplant Reunion
August 28th 2011 will mark the 15 year anniversary for the Liver transplant team at Primary Children's Hospital. Since then they have done over 150 liver transplants. Around 200 people attended. Dr. Linda Book highlighted the first, latest, oldest, and youngest recipients. There were also several in attendance that are waiting for transplants.

We try to get together several times a year. Our next get together I am thinking early October at Wheeler farm if they still have wagon rides, and if they have a pumpkin patch.
We were featured in ABC 4 news and Fox 13 during the 5pm news. When they have online links I will update the post.

Day of Race Registration and Check in begins at 6:45 a.m.$27 Single Pre-registration
$27 Single Pre-registration
$20 Team - per person
$15 Youth 18 and under
$30 Late Registration
Save $7 per person by creating a team of 5 members or more.
Cost for single registration will go up to $30 after August 11. Online registration will close at midnight on August 10.
There will be two locations, so be sure to choose your preferred location when you register.
PCMC's Liver Clinic Picnic
From 1-3 pm August 13th the Liver Clinic will be celebrating 15 years of the transplant program. There will be activities, food, etc.

It was wonderful to see Dr. Book and all the surgeons that work miracles with our Liver kids.
We were able to meet many new families. If we met this morning I hope that you will send me an email so we can let you know when we will have our next get together, and if you have blog or care page that we could link to, that you will allow us to do that.
Most amazing fact of the day - If we could increase organ donation by 20% we could end the waiting list (160,000) in just 3 years.
Good luck to Dr. Box and everyone else that will be riding the 3,000 miles across the US promoting Organ awareness you guys are awesome!

Doctor bikes coast-to-coast for liver transplant awareness
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - It was quite the irony as a Salt Lake liver doctor recently received a liver transplant, and now, he'll spread awareness of the need for liver transplants – literally, from coast to coast.
Doctor Terry Box and his team will bike 3,000 miles in the race across America.
They'll each ride for thirty minutes at time, 24 hours a day and hope to be done in 12 days.
